Shoutout for Biofabric – network analysis and visualization tool

Biofabric is a tool for analyzing networks.  It has an innovative approach to network visualization.  Most visualization tools represent a network as a series of nodes and links, where links represent connections between nodes.  Instead, Biofabric represents both nodes and links as lines.  This creates a fabric type structure.

Biofabric was created by William Longabaugh.  You can open Biofabric in your browser.  Here is my biofabric file of the network of US states.

You can compare the visualization with the one I did in Kumu.IO.

In this post I wanted to introduce Biofabric.  I’ll explore more of it in later posts.
